In the course of the Pandemic Rotary Connects
In the course of the 8 months of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Rotary has managed to stay related – and afloat.
Due to the fact departing from its regular lunch conferences at the Yard City Lodge very last March 9, when Mayor Theresa Trouve served as our very last in-particular person visitor speaker, the Mineola-Back garden City Rotary Club has held to its program of holding conferences on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each thirty day period – virtually, on Zoom.
Practically nothing can substitute assembly encounter-to-face and sharing the fellowship of Club members and company! None the much less, we have continued to welcome a great collection of guest speakers who have joined us on Zoom But – we do search ahead to returning to the Lodge at the soonest. Keep the Club ticking!
Sadly, though, as have fellow charitable and services corporations, we have experienced to postpone many of our occasions and routines. Fundraising, which permits Rotary to lead to its several companies – our mission, has virtually arrive to a halt – at the very least briefly. Nevertheless, we are doing work toward various tasks to aid add to our coffers.
GSA Awards Postponed
With regret, we experienced no choice but to postpone the awarding of Rotary’s “Community Provider Award” to our two outstanding honorees – Greg Bavaro, owner of our own Garden CityPizza and Tony Lobrano, owner of Mineola’s Piccola Bussola cafe which was tragically wadestroyed by fireplace recently. We send our sincerest condolences to Tony who is in the system of rebuilding this Mineola landmark cafe. We search ahead to rescheduling this coveted honoring which both equally gentlemen so richly are worthy of.
